$5,000 Minimum Guaranteed First Place at Every Divisional Tournament
 

Ronny Webb takes the win on Kentucky Lake

The Kentucky Division held its third tournament of the regular season on Saturday, July 28, 2018 of Kentucky Dam in Gilbertsville, Kentucky.   Ronny Webb of Dyersburg, Tennessee took home the win by bringing five-fish to the scales weighing 18.23-pounds. For his success, he took home a check of $5000.00. 

“I stayed on the North end of Kentucky and Barkley Lakes all day. I caught my first fish early on top-water throwing a whopper-plopper and the remainder of my limit on a ½ oz. and ¾ oz. jig. I ended up catching a total of 9 keepers for the day”, said Webb.

Coming in second place on the boater side was Tom O’Bryant of Cedar Grove, Tennessee weighing in five-fish for a total of 16.34-pounds. O’Bryant also brought the biggest bass to the scale in the boater division weighing in at 5.12-pounds in which he earned an additional $260.00 for his catch. 

 “I ran to the south end of the lake fishing shallow around structure with a jig”, said O’Bryant.

Billy Schroeder of Paducah, Kentucky finished third for the boaters weighing in five-fish for 16.10-pounds.

“I caught all of my fish in between the dam and the 68/80 bridge on a jig in 30-40 ft of water”, said Schroeder.

Finishing fourth place Edward Gettys of Paris, Tennessee brought a five-bass limit to the scales for 12.34-pounds. Rounding out the top five was Charlie Craycraft of Woodlawn, Tennessee weighing in five-fish for 11.37-pounds.

In the Co-Angler Division Kirk Lafferty of Columbia, Tennessee brought three-fish to the scales weighing in at 12.03-pounds he took home a check of $900.00 for his catch.  Lafferty also had the biggest bass for the Co-Angler Division weighing 4.93-pounds, he also earned a check of $135.00 for this kicker fish.

 “I caught all my fish on the north end of the lake on a green pumpkin jig in 30-40ft of water.  I had my limit by 8:00 a.m. and I want to give a big thanks to Billy Schroeder for putting me on fish to give me a great limit for the day”, said Lafferty. 

In second place for the co-anglers was William Walsh of Bon Aqua, Tennessee bringing two-fish to the scales for 6.18-pounds.  

“I caught all of my fish shallow on the south end of the lake throwing a Strike King 5XD and a Strike King Red-Eye Shad”, said Walsh.

Coming in third place was Ethan Futrell of Cadiz, Kentucky bringing two-fish to the scales weighing 4.47-pounds. 

  “I caught all my fish on a 3/8 oz. shaky head with a 8 inch Zoom Magnum Trick Worm in 15-18ft of water on the north end of the lake”, said Futrell.

Finishing fourth place was Ray Dickens of Marion, Illinois weighing in two-fish for 4.43-pounds.  Rounding out the top five in the Co-Angler Division was JoJo Walsh of Lyles, Tennessee he brought three-fish to the scales weighing 4.24-pounds.  

The ABA Open Series Kentucky Division’s next tournament will be held on August 25th on Kentucky Lake out of Paris Landing State Park in Buchanan, Tennessee. 
The best anglers from across the nation will advance to the 2019 Ray Scott Championship to be held on Lake Eufaula in April 2019.
