$5,000 Minimum Guaranteed First Place at Every Divisional Tournament
 

Kilgore Take home 13K on Neely Henry

Andy Kilgore of Kingston, GA won the American Bass Anglers Ram Truck Open Series Alabama North tournament, held May 6, 2017 at Neely Henry. 

Running out of Coosa Landing in Gadsden, AL, Kilgore caught five bass weighing 15.64 pounds. He had a 3.73-pound kicker to anchor his bag and took home $5000 for his efforts. He took home an additional $7000 from Triton Gold and $1,000 from Mercury Marine giving him an overall winnings of $13,000.

“I used a square bill crankbait on rocks. I culled a few times to get my overall weight," stated Kilgore. 

In second for the boaters, Phillip Perkins of Atalla, AL landed a five-bass tournament limit going 14.56 pounds. He collected $1250 for the effort.

“I caught my fish using a black and blue jig flipping in the grass. I was only able to get five keepers throughout the tournament,” said Perkins. 

Toby Morrison of Lyerly, GA took third for the boaters with five bass going 14.55 pounds earning $900 for his efforts.

“I used a frog and a chartreuse spinner bait. I caught fish all day long but was only able to cull twice,” stated Morrison.
 

Finishing fourth, Brandon Craft of Atalla, AL, he landed a five-bass limit for 14.30 pounds. 
Bradley Jones of Aragon, GA rounded out the top five boaters with five bass at 14.12 pounds.

The biggest bass for the boaters was caught by: Lee Pitts of Cedar Bluff, Al that big bass weighed 4.46 pounds and pocketed $600. 

In the Co-Angler Division, Duanne McQueen of Stockbridge, GA won with three bass going 11.40 pounds. He sealed his victory with a 4.63-pound kicker to pocket a check for $1700.

“I used a lizard today to catch my fish. I caught fish all day and culled a few times. We were fishing shallow,” stated McQueen.  

Taking second for the co-anglers Jody Jordan of Silver Creek, GA. He brought in a three-bass division limit weighing 10.28 pounds. He collected $650 for the effort.

“I caught my fish using a shaky head with a speed crawl. It was a good day, I got to cull a few times to get my overall weight,” said Jordan.

Roy Yother of Red Bank, TN placed third among the co-anglers with three bass going 7.57 pounds to earn $450.

“I caught my fish today using a chatterbait and a floating trick worm. I was able to catch fish all day long today and was able to cull a few times,” stated Yother. 

In fourth place among the co-anglers, Waylon Hancock of Dutton, A, he brought in three bass for 7.35 pounds. 

Randy Hobbs of Dawson, AL finished in fifth place with three bass at 7.11.

The biggest bass for the co-anglers was caught by: Duane McQueen that weighed 4.63 and pocketed $300.

Slated for June 17, 2017 the next divisional tournament will be held on Lake Weiss out of Leesburg Landing in Leesburg, AL. At the end of the season, the best anglers from across the nation advance the 2018 Ray Scott Championship.
