Robertson Makes it Two in a Row

ATHENS, Ala. – Following up his win on Kerr Lake, Mark Robertson of Henderson, North Carolina won the American Bass Anglers open series held on Lake Gaston on 8/11/18. Running out of Holly Grove Marina in Bracey, Virginia Robertson weighed in a  five-bass limit weighing 16.67-lbs. Robertson’s limit was anchored by a bass weighing 4.76 pounds. For the win Robertson took home a check for $5000.00.

Mississippi Division heads to Pickwick

The Mississippi Division will hold its last tournament of the 2018 season on Pickwick at JP Coleman State Park in Iuka, MS on Saturday, August 18, 2018.  

Boats will launch from JP Coleman State Park, 613 County Road 321, Iuka, 38852. Anglers will blast-off will be at 6:00 a.m. or safe light. The weigh-in will be at 3:00 p.m. Registration will be held at the tournament trailer at JP Coleman State Park on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. with a meeting following at 6:30 p.m.

ATHENS, Ala. – The ABA Open Series NE will hold its next event of the season on August 18th, 2018, on Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh NY.

The competitors will launch from Dock Street Landing, located at 5 Dock St. Plattsburgh, NY 12901. Anglers may begin fishing at 6 a.m. or safe light. The weigh-in will begin at 3 p.m. Registration begins at 4 p.m. Friday, August 17th at The ABA Stage at Dock Street Landing.

Squire Wins $5250.00 on the Ohio River

ATHENS, Ala. – Terry Squire of Medina Ohio, won the American Bass Anglers Open Series Ohio Division tournament held on August 4th 2018 on the Ohio River. Running out of Maysville riverfront park in Maysville Kentucky, Squire weighed in three-bass weighing 6.68-pounds. His catch was anchored by a bass weighing 3.07-pounds. For the boater division victory, he took home a check for $5000.00. For weighing in the largest bass caught by a boater, Squire also took home an additional $250.00. For using an ABU Garcia reel to catch the largest bass of the tournament, Squire also took home an ABU Garcia SX reel valued at $160.00.

Ronny Webb takes the win on Kentucky Lake

The Kentucky Division held its third tournament of the regular season on Saturday, July 28, 2018 of Kentucky Dam in Gilbertsville, Kentucky.   Ronny Webb of Dyersburg, Tennessee took home the win by bringing five-fish to the scales weighing 18.23-pounds. For his success, he took home a check of $5000.00. 

“I stayed on the North end of Kentucky and Barkley Lakes all day. I caught my first fish early on top-water throwing a whopper-plopper and the remainder of my limit on a ½ oz. and ¾ oz. jig. I ended up catching a total of 9 keepers for the day”, said Webb.

Running out of French Creek Marina, in the town of Clayton, NY Jesse caught five-bass weighing 23.33-pounds. ATHENS, Ala. – Dan Fry of Marysville Ohio, won the American Bass Anglers Open Series Ohio Division tournament held on July 14th, 2018 on the Ohio River. Running out of Tanners Creek in Lawrenceburg IN, Fry weighed in a five-bass limit weighing 9.28-pounds. He anchored his catch with a bass weighing 4.10-pounds. For the boater division victory, he took home a check for $5000.00. For weighing in the largest bass caught by a boater, Fry also took home an additional $430.00. For using an ABU Garcia reel to catch the largest bass of the tournament, Fry also took home an ABU Garcia SX reel valued at $160.00.

Lee Takes Command On The Pines

ATHENS, Ala. – Russell Lee of Sachse, TX won the American Bass Anglers Open Series East Texas Division, held June 30th on Lake of the Pines, TX.  Russell came across the scales early during weigh-in, hauling a heavy bag with excitement. His bag of 5 fish, two of which were both over 7 pounds provided a total weight of 26.71. His largest of the two weighed in at 7.69 pounds. Lee walked away with a winning check for $5000.00, and he will be receiving an additional $1000 in contingency from Mercury Marine thanks to his brand new, one-week-old Mercury 4-stroke motor.
